Earwigs We Treat in El Cajon
European Earwig
European earwigs are reddish-brown color and are generally over half an inch. These pests can fly short distances but usually prefer to scurry around. These critters hunt at night and hide in your home during the day. They likely entered looking for shelter if you see them roaming during the day. An interesting fact about the European earwig is that the females will relocate their 30–60 eggs multiple times, looking for ideal conditions.
Ring-Legged Earwig
The ring-legged earwig is dark brown with pale yellowish-white legs marked by reddish-brown spots. Similar in size to the European earwig, it grows just over half an inch long. While more common in Southern California, these pests also thrive in the non-mountainous regions of Northern California.
Striped Earwig
Striped earwigs are reddish-brown and the largest of the three species, reaching about an inch in length. Unlike other earwigs, they don’t feed on plants. Instead, they eat small insects, making them beneficial for pest control.

Our Earwig Control Process
Earwig Inspection
Our team identifies potential hiding spots and signs of infestation. They inspect your property’s damp areas, outdoor spaces, and dark crevices. Indoors, they check basements, bathrooms, and other damp environments. After inspection, the team provides a tailored treatment plan based on the severity of the infestation.
Outdoor Earwig Treatment
Outdoor treatment includes using eco-friendly sprays and baits around key yard and garden areas. Our technicians target entry points and high-moisture zones like mulch beds, plant bases, and foundation walls. We create a protective barrier to keep earwigs away. We use products safe for pets and children.
Indoor Earwig Treatment
We use non-toxic sprays and traps for indoor treatments to handle infestations in high-risk areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and basements. The goal is to eliminate existing pests and address moisture issues that may attract earwigs. Our team seals entry points and provides expert advice on preventing future infestations.
